Politicians in Germany’s next governing party have agreed upon federal cannabis legalization measures. In the forthcoming legislative session, cannabis legalization measures are anticipated to be submitted. Legislation would also expand substance harm prevention programs and prohibit alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis marketing. Private cannabis possession is currently decriminalized throughout Germany, and a medical cannabis system exists.
