Cannabis News: The Long History Between Cannabis and Ukraine

​​Cannabis and Ukraine have a long history that goes back to the Soviet Era when Ukraine was one of the largest cultivators of hemp.

With the latest attacks on Ukraine from Russia, The Russian invasion, according to local activists, will ultimately destroy the local cannabis business.

The Ukrainian Association of Cannabis made a motion to the Parliament in 2019 to discuss medicinal marijuana legislation. According to a national poll conducted in 2020, 65 percent of the public supportded medical reform, and Ukraine has decriminalized growing up to 10 plants in-home.
