It was revealed on Friday that Representative Ed Perlmutter, a Democrat from Colorado, has been in talks with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office and Senator Cory Bookers’ and Nancy Pelosi’s, confirmed in a press briefing to Marijuana Moment, to pass this legislation.
Pelosi has stated that she will support and keep this legislation in the final bill, and there is bipartisan support for passing cannabis reform. Republicans like Rand Paul from Kentucky have criticized his Democratic colleagues for not having passed reform yet with control of both chambers and the White House.
