A much needed, and often forgotten, perspective about the need for conscious equality in the creation of medical cannabis legislation. Dr Rachel Knox explains that minority groups have historically been treated unfairly when it comes to cannabis-based treatments. We must be mindful of this going forward and increase the visibility of minority groups in order to ensure a fair and impartial framework for all.
“We need policies to assure that infrastructural changes are made so that the system facilitates the actualisation of health equity and well being for all people, of all colour, without question. We need to move away from the weaponisation of Cannabis towards the assetisation of Cannabis.”
