Beginner-Friendly Yoga for Psoas Release (Cannabis-enhanced Yoga)

Today’s class is focused on releasing the psoas! But what is the psoas? The psoas is located within deep hip flexor muscles and assists us in sitting, standing, walking, running, twisting, and many other ranges of motion as it supports the spine and legs.

Tight psoas muscles can translate to tighter hips and lower back pain, so these areas will feel a lot more open after this short class. Most of this class is performed on the knees, and we keep the practice low intensity by replacing high to low plank with cat-cow tilts. Consuming indica flower with this class is great for releasing tension in the body (some of these poses are deep stretches) and bringing awareness to the psoas area as you move. Some poses we explore are reclining hand to toe pose, bridge pose, lizard lunge, gate pose, warrior one, and modified side plank.
