Cannabis legalization in Tennessee is no silly, progressive idea – it’s a downright moral imperative. From compassionate therapy concerns, to correcting grave injustices, to providing basic consumer safety against the ingestion of toxins, ending the irrational prohibition of cannabis is an idea whose time has come – even in the American South. Here’s why every Tennessean – conservative and liberal, young and old – should care, and here’s how we can all get there together. John Kerns is Co-Founder and CEO of New Bloom Labs, which provides the chemical analysis of cannabis and cannabis products for the purposes of legal compliance, consumer safety, and quality control. He is a longtime Chattanooga entrepreneur, founding his first company, Preferred Care at Home, in 2009. A civic activist, he has served on several nonprofit boards and neighborhood groups. He and his wife, Sara, live on Missionary Ridge with their best bud, Banjo. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
