“And don’t you think it’s time we legalize marijuana in the state of Texas? I do too. We can get that done”, O’Rourke said.
According to a poll conducted by the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, voters who support cannabis legalization have risen steadily since 2010.
In 2010, there was a 60/40 split in opposition to legalization. These numbers have now switched in support of legalizing the medicine.
Jax James, the executive producer for Texas NORML (National Organization for The Reform of Marijuana Laws), said “”For the rare few prohibitionists that are left out there. I think that many of the issues that people have with cannabis can be addressed in thoughtful ways.”
