“Although some of these added ingredients may be considered safe in other non-inhaled products, patient safety is the top priority of the Medical Marijuana Program,” the state wrote in an email announcing the recall, according to the Pittsburgh City Paper.
This recall came after a month-long investigation into the medical industry within Pennsylvania. It was released on the heels of guidelines for consumers to understand better how to check their vapes’ quality.
Low-quality vapes are made of plastic, allowing terpenes to penetrate the plastic, and plastic can potentially leach chemicals from the oil.
If your vape is leaking, this may also signify that the product has poor-quality or ill-fitting O-rings that allow the vape cartridge to break.
