In a new study published by Rasmussen Reports, most U.S. adults, including 54% of Republicans, support national cannabis legalization. The study found that 62% of U.S. adults favor legalization, while 23% oppose it.
In November 2020, Gallup reported that 68% of U.S. adults supported legalization, tying the all-time favorability percentage last achieved in 1969.
Notably, the only demographics that opposed cannabis legalization were those 65 or older and those with incomes greater than $200,000: two groups President Biden can undoubtedly claim.
President Biden, to this day, still opposes adult-use cannabis legalization.
Last year, a firm released a study finding that approximately 70% of Americans view smoking cannabis as a morally acceptable behavior: higher than their moral views on gay relationships, animal testing, the death penalty, and abortion.
