The Importance of Holistic IPM for Cannabis Operations | Interview with Dan Banks of Lightshade

Ceres cannabis designer, Sunny Kaercher, (virtually) sat down with Dan Banks of Lightshade, to talk about his company’s integrated pest management (IPM) program. Lightshade is a vertically integrated operator in the Denver, Colorado are with five cultivation operations and ten dispensaries. Being the head of Cultivation and Production at Lightshade, Dan has extensive experience with IPM for cannabis cultivation.

As a holistic design company, IPM is a huge consideration when we are designing and engineering a commercial cannabis greenhouse. While there are many ways to address pest breakouts as they happen, we believe that the best IPM strategy is a preventative one – starting with facility design and system integration.
