In 2022, the California State Fair will for the first time include a contest to select the best cannabis flower statewide, which will be available to all registered cannabis growers in the state.
Indoor, mixed light, and outdoor categories will be used to sort the entries. The cannabis flower will be judged, with seven different cannabis chemical compounds being evaluated and selected for honors, including 5 naturally present terpenes as well as CBD and THC.
Cannabis will compete with other California items such as wine, craft beer, olive oil, and cheese at the expo.
As per a press release, the California State Fair contest will be held in collaboration with Cultivar Brands, a California-based cannabis advertising agency. The cannabis flower will be tested by SC Labs.
From November 1 to March 30, 2022, cannabis producers can sent their entries for assessment. In May 2022, the prize winner will be chosen.
