Josh Fitzgerald, the Pharmacist in Charge at Deseret Wellness, says vape cartridges, edibles, and tinctures are all effective treatments for problems in the gut. Recently, delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol has shown promise as a treatment for gastrointestinal inflammation and other abdominal issues.
Delta-8 THC has therapeutic benefits without causing as much psychoactivity as its famous relative, delta-9 THC, does. Josh recommends products containing delta-8 for those with IBS and other gastrointestinal disorders. He also recommends cannabis products containing CBG and “kush” strains to treat inflammation.
As with any type of cannabis treatment plan, we recommend keeping a journal to track which marijuana strains, doses, and delivery methods work best for treating IBS and other gastrointestinal problems. Let us know in the comments what’s working best for you!
About Us:
Tim Pickett, a Utah QMP and founder of http://utahmarijuana.org, meets with patients daily to recommend Medical Cannabis. Having a certain CBD dosage on hand as you ease into this treatment is highly recommended, especially if you are unfamiliar or made uncomfortable by the euphoric head high that comes with cannabis. CBD will help to tap that feeling down a bit.
Josh Fitzgerald is the Pharmacist in Charge at Deseret Wellness’ Provo location. He joins Tim & Blake this season to give a fresh perspective on Medical Cannabis in the Utah space and beyond.
