One Thai restaurant in a hospital east of Bangkok is attracting customers with its unique cuisine dishes infused with cannabis, or marijuana.
Approved by the government, the hospital serves dishes such as “Joyfully Dancing Salad” and “Giggling Bread”.
It’s part of a project to promote the use of cannabis to help patients recover faster from illness.
People who’ve tried it say it’s a unique, yet delicious experience.
“It tastes a little bit bitter, but the leaf of cannabis is very special. It’s very relaxing, I love it a lot.”
“(the) cannabis leaf can improve appetites and make the people sleep well, and also be in a mood, in a good mood.”
The amount of cannabis leaf used in each dish is indicated for diners and not allowed for pregnant woman or those under 25.
The Thai government hopes to expand on the initiative by teaching other entrepreneurs and restaurants how to safely cook with cannabis, and eventually draw in foreign tourists.
