Canada is moving towards legalization of non-medical cannabis. While this will be an important step for reducing the harms of cannabis use, it brings with it uncertainty and questions from both the public and health professionals. As the largest group of health-care providers in the country, nurses are well positioned to engage with patients in conversations about cannabis. This webinar will provide an overview of current research related to potential harms of non-medical cannabis use and offer 10 evidence-informed recommendations to minimize those negative effects. These recommendations provide a starting place for reducing harms as Canada moves forward with cannabis legalization.
