Congratulations! You now have lovely sprouted seeds, and it is time to plant them to the ground. In this episode, I’ll show you how to do it right using three germinated seeds and these easy-to-find materials:
Plastic soda cups (one seed per cup)
Vegamatrix Grow
Plastic cling wrap
Rubber band (one rubber band per cup)
Neutral soil
1 liter of water
Once you have the needed supplies, let’s start planting!
Step 1. Break up soil clods or clumps, then fill the cups, leaving only a half-inch from the top. You also need to put a couple of holes at the bottom for drainage.
Step 2. Put a teaspoon of Vegamatrix Grow onto one (1) liter of water, then stir. Seeds don’t need much, but neutral soil has no nutrient charge in it, so I’m giving it a bit of nitrogen.
Step 3. Now, it’s time to plant our lovely germinated seeds. Very carefully pick one up and angle the taproot straight down into the ground. Make a hole roughly the size of the taproot in the center and bury the seed. It should be 16th of an inch underneath the soil.
Step 4. Cover the entire brim of the cups with a plastic cling wrap and keep it in place with a rubber band. Put four to five holes on the covers. This prevents the topsoil from drying and slightly raises the temperature in the cup.
Step 5. Grow lamps will provide the warmth germinated seeds need. Put the cups under fluorescents or T5s, with a gap of 6 to 12 inches, and leave them on for 24 hrs. Within 24 to 48 hours, you’re going to see the first set of green leaves.
Step 6. As soon as you see the green leaves, you must take the plastic off. They should stay under fluorescents for a good week or two before moving them under more powerful lamps.
