A medicinal cannabis producer in Upington in the Northern Cape says it’s time government prioritised the industry as it has the potential to create jobs and grow the economy. 13 companies in South Africa have been licenced by the Health Products Regulatory Authority to cultivate cannabis for medicinal purposes. Currently, the companies are growing the plant to produce and export cannabis oil.
